Starting with the 2024-25 season, children at the youngest level of the Little League® Baseball and Softball program (League Age 4-7) will have the ability to register for any Little League program they choose, without respect to any geography- or school-related eligibility requirements. Those players who register under this option will also be fully eligible to participate in all aspects of league play, including International Tournament play, for the duration of their Little League careers provided they have continuous and unbroken participation from the time they are League Age seven within the specific league where initially registered and provided all other participation eligibility requirements have been met. Arcadia Little League supports this initiative and will register out of boundary players (Arcadia Little League boundaries can be found here***MAP)) subject to availability at the time of registration.

Here are some things to know about Arcadia's eligibility policy:

Availability: Registration of out of boundary players is subject to availability.

Capacity: Capacity is subject to change at any time during the registration process based on field availability and volunteers in

Waitlist: If a division of play is at capacity at the time of registration, players will be placed on a waitlist. They will be notified by email and payment will not be accepted until they are removed from the waitlist and placed on a team. After the close of regular registration all players on the waitlist will be notified of availability. If there is availability players will be removed from the waitlist and placed on a team until all available slots are filled. The waitlist will be processed in the following order: Boundary Players in order of registration, then Non-Boundary Players in order of registration.

SOFTBALL DIVISIONS

LITTLE LEAGUE AGE
We offer many programs for ages 4-12. Please see the below League Age determination chart as Little League International has recently made changes to the League Age Definition which could impact your child’s age for their Little League season.

Age Chart

SOFTBALL JUNIOR VARSITY (Age 5-6 )
Description: Five-year-olds with T-Ball experience and all six-year-olds will play in this division. Basic skills are refined and stressed. Coaches are allowed on the field during games to encourage/instruct players. At this level players are taught to hit pitched balls by coaches only. Players are taught game basics and prepare to play at a faster pace. All players bat every inning and score is not kept. There is no post-season play.

SOFTBALL VARSITY (Age 7-8)
Description: Ages 7 and 8 years old will play in this division. There is not a tryout for this division. Pitching is introduced with players pitching the first one or two innings of every game. A pitching machine or coach-pitch will be used for the rest of the game. During machine pitch players have five pitches to put the ball in play; if they do not put the ball in play within five pitches they will be called out. An inning ends after three outs or five runs scored. There is no post season-play.

SOFTBALL MINORS (Ages 9-10)
Description: All 9 and 10 year old players must attend a try out where skills are evaluated. Fundamental skills are stressed, while developments of additional skills are taught. Players pitch the entire game and base-stealing is permitted. Mandatory play rules are enforced. There is a tournament of champions at the end of the regular season, single elimination. Minors 9-10 year olds in this division are eligible for the post-season All-Star tournament team.

SOFTBALL MAJORS (Ages 11-12)
Description: All 11 and 12 year old players must attend a tryout where skills are evaluated. Every registered 11-12 year old will be drafted or placed on a Majors team. While fundamental skills are stressed, advanced skills are taught and developed. Games are fast paced. Mandatory play is enforced. There is a double-elimination tournament of champions at the end of the regular season. All players 11 and 12 years old in this division are eligible for Little League All-Stars Tournament Play.

Arcadia Little League prides itself in the ability to provide the youth of our community an environment in which to learn and develop athletic skills, as well as life skills to apply in the competitive arena while maintaining an attitude of good sportsmanship and fun.
